Meet Carina Bethea: World Traveler + Business Owner + Continuous Learner

I love learning and living life to the fullest. I have traveled to over 20 countries and am intrigued by different cultures. In 2008 I married my pen-pal friend from across the ocean and in 2012 I moved Virginia from my hometown of Munich, Germany. I am a full-time wedding photographer and in pursuit of interdisciplinary growth and success.

After graduating from Thomas Nelson Community College with an Associates Degree and a 4.0 GPA, I decided to continue my studies at Old Dominion University. I graduated in May 2016 with my Bachelor's Degree; I am proud of my 3.98 GPA.

I love working as part of a team and developing ideas in an open-minded environment. Coming from an international background, I especially enjoy beauty in diversity and interacting with people with different cultures and backgrounds.

For these reasons especially, I love my major and how it brings methods of communication to the forefront. Marketing, too, plays into this idea of bringing people together. Good marketing helps people connect, build relationships, and exchange goods. Most of all, good marketing, too, communicates a story.

My work schedule is flexible as I mainly work from home, being self-employed. Staying organized and being industrious comes naturally to me.

I founded my own business at the age of 21 and am considered one of the East Coast's best wedding photographers. I am happy to be a businesswoman.

Meeting new people from all walks of life is part of my job and it is part of why I love what I do. My passion for traveling, photography, editorial and management work, are all firmly connected.
